Castelletto Ticino, 'Gilda' Also Restarts: 'We Need Some Normality'
The venue will operate as a lounge bar and restaurant. For the nightclub, we’ll have to wait until July 14th
Nightclubs open from Monday, or rather not. Yesterday – June 11th – it emerged that the draft of the new decree from the Prime Minister contains the decision to postpone the reopening of dance venues until July 14th (along with conferences and fairs). A choice that upends the plans of many owners. But those who don’t lose heart are the staff of Gilda, the nightlife icon of Castelletto Ticino for more than 20 years.
The venue managed by Enzo Melfi has decided to reopen its doors already tonight, but in a different way than what people were used to. They are offering aperitifs, dinners and a lounge bar to avoid crowding. So Gilda’s weekend will start at 7:30 PM this evening with the musical selection of DJ Cucky. Alongside the aperitif time and restaurant (already present before), there’s the new bar in the summer garden starting at 10 PM. Gilda will be open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday even in case of bad weather, and some precautions are planned: body temperature measurement before entering and, as in any other public place, wearing a mask will be mandatory at the entrance. It will also be necessary to make reservations, both for dinners and for lounge bar tables (at numbers 335-6376667, 335-5366008 or 338-8691054).
Jobs
Entertainment venues have been among the most penalized precisely because of the crowding that characterizes them, and Gilda is no exception. “Being stopped for so long has damaged us - says Enzo Melfi -, ours are still businesses that provide jobs. The restart will be slow, but we are convinced that after every storm there is always a rainbow. Our sector also needs to return to normality after such a difficult period: unfortunately in these three months we have been given little consideration.” It will be a different way of experiencing the night and Gilda doesn’t want to be caught unprepared.
